When the Keep on the Watch brochere came out..and they said that we had entered in to the "hour of judgement"... and they didn't say why...Up til then I thought they backed up everything they said....

i found that before i heard of 607, un e.t.c it was how i was treated as young witness by people who were supposed to be christians.. backstabbing, gossip, lies and more.. .
once i found out about the un, 607 and found this site, it confirmed i'd made the right decision.. what was the thing that made you consider your position?

Also fat, homely, poor, with a junky car... Pretty low also..

True Christians neutral in War?
by Van Gogh intoday i re-established contact with an older true - friend who is still a jw.
in the fifty years that he has been baptized he invested a lot of time and effort in helping the needy and elderly, loyally taking up responsibilities in the org as an elder, organizer, speaker and shepherd.
he is still out there as a lowly publisher, tirelessly going from door to door with only his bible.

According to Christianity Christ is a reality right now, and is in that view practised by partaking in him right now; the fruit of the spirit to be cultivated right now – not wait till the great trib.
I agree, I would hardly ever be for war...even in a much earlier time.. It would have to be a very, very justified war...but now....not at all...

Revelation, the last book of the Bible, alerts us to the fact that an angel flying in midlevel has “everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings.” He says in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived.” (Revelation 14: 6,7) That ‘hour of judgment’ includes both the pronouncement and the execution of divine judgment. An “hour” is a relatively short period of time. It comes as the climax of “the last days.” We live in that time now. - 2 Timothy 3:1
The thing about this statement above, is they are making the statement that, we have just entered into a new period,that happens at the end of the last days.. Which really would be the great trib. to me.. The hour of judgement, last hour..always been the great trib to me. Anyways, in a WT a few months ago, they watered the statement down, to look like the hour of judgement could have started in Jesus' day, or 1914.. very vague.

Papal infallibility and the JWs
by sir82 inhere is a talking point that may resonate with some old-timer jws, especially those who recall the often vitriolic pronouncements against catholicism in the 60's & 70's, and even thru part of the 80's..... one of the points i recall that was looked on with scorn and derision by many jws was the idea of "papal infallibility".
"look at those pagan catholics,", a particularly rabid jw might comment.
"they think their pope is perfect--they even have a doctrine called 'papal infallibility!!".

The JW's treat themselves as much more infalible than the Cath church. If you question, you are d'f..They say the elders are chosen by God. They also say, everything from the literature, etc.. is from God.
They are much worse than the Catholics right now.

by booker-t ini know alot of people might be offended by this question but i think it is a good question to ask.
born-agains are always pointing the cult finger at jw's, mormons, moonies, 7-day adventists, oneness pentacostals, armstrong, etc; but could they themselves be a cult?
as the old saying goes "it takes one to know one"
